This course gives teachers the opportunity to experience through hands-on activities the STEM content, but also gain self-efficacy and a new view of their own capabilities as STEM teachers. Teachers will be able to further enhance the digital competences of their students and develop their employability skills by enhancing their team work, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

This course is addressed to school teachers of any curriculum discipline to enhance problem solving skills. Robotics can be incorporated into any STEM subjects and even into music and art lessons!

Introduction - Introduction on how to teach Robotics and STEM in Education: Investigate teaching strategies and develop an understanding of what STEM is all about. Look at practical ways on how to integrate STEM teaching into the current UK and ROI curriculum. Ground breaking innovative approaches to STEM education teaching will also be discussed.

- Intro to Makeblock  

- Intro to Cody Rocky and Artificial Intelligence (AI) 

- Developing courses for robotic activity 

- Practical sessions in using robotic equipment

Day 3: 

- Intro to Neuron Blocks

- Intro to Micro:bit 

- Python Programming 

- Intro to M Bot 

- Developing courses for  M Bot 

- Practical sessions in using M Bot robotic equipment

Day 4:

- Summary of  activities 

- Course Evaluation and Feedback 

- Graduation

Certification

At the end of the course, each participant will be awarded with a certificate of attendance and if requested with a Europass Mobility Certificate. If your school/educational organisation requires additional documents to certify your presence/competencies learnt/learning outcomes, please let us know and we will provide you with the required documents/pictures/videos.

Our training is completely bespoke, therefore the above schedule can be tailored to your school's/organisation's needs to ensure that this professional training will be the best fit model for your school. We can incorporate cultural visits and extend the training to 5 days to include activities such as the walking tour of Derry-Londonderry, visit Giant’s Causeway and the Dark Hedges (Game of Thrones filming locations) etc. We can also arrange your accommodation if it is required. Erasmus+ Funds

All school teachers, trainers, headmasters and non-teaching staff of educational organisations are eligible to receive Erasmus+ grant to cover all costs relating to this Teacher Training under Key Action 1 (KA101 - school education staff; KA102 - VET staff; KA103 - higher education staff; and KA104 - adult education staff). To receive the Erasmus plus KA1 funding, the sending institution needs to submit the KA1 application. Please remember that there is only one deadline per year, so be sure not to miss it! What you need to bring along

Laptops and robots are provided, however, if you wish to bring your own laptop or iPad, please feel free to do so. In this case, please download the 'mBlock 5' app and register an account. It is recommended to register an account with the 'mBlock 5' app in advance even if you don't bring your own laptop/iPad.

The training days run from 9 am to 4pm with an hour lunch break. Lunch is included.

Booking, Payment, and Deposit

Our training requires full payment at the time of booking to guarantee your spot. This ticket is non-refundable; however if we are able to fill your spot before the workshop we will refund 50%. Refunds made more than 30 days after payment are subject to a 3% processing fee. Up to 30 days before a workshop you can reschedule and apply your ticket fee to a future workshop. Your entire ticket fee becomes non-refundable and non-transferable 30 days before the workshop.

If AISR cancels a workshop for any reason, your entire fee will be transferred to another workshop or refunded to you at your discretion.

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover your costs in case of cancellation or withdrawal.
