Course Information

Improve your English Language skills and prepare to study or work in English by enrolling in our Online English Booster course.

You will be working individually and in small groups, practising your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in English in order to expand your vocabulary and grow your confidence.

You will be in small class groups, which will give you the opportunity to get more teacher time. Whether you are perfecting your English for your studies or professional work, you will meet students and/or professionals around the world, which will widen your international networking activities.

This course will open the door of opportunity for you internationally.

Activities

You will take part in group debates about current issues and will also learn important conversational topics. You will be immersed in British and Irish culture and history, and enhance your academic English skills so that you are prepared to live and study abroad.

This is an intensive 1 week course with 25 hours weekly lessons. However, depending on how long you want to perfect your English languauge skills, you can take advantage of our 2 weeks or 3 weeks package.

During the course, you will develop an online academic portfolio which you can carry with you on to your chosen academic programme or professional work. This will include samples of oral and written work, assignments, feedback on tasks and performance as well as grades. All lessons are delivered by a highly qualified and expereinced native English teacher.

Lessons are delivered from Monday to Friday via Zoom.

Safeguarding

At the time of writing, summer school courses are delivered virtually.

Please note that students travel at their own risk. AISR will follow all guidelines outlined in our coronavirus statement. However, this is best practice and at best can only minimise the risk of contracting Covid-19. It does not eradicate the risk entirely.

If a face-to-face programme is cancelled by AISR due to COVID-19, your entire fee will be transferred to another programme or refunded to you at your discretion, except for arranged accommodation and other third party services. For further information, please refer to our Cancellation Policy.

What do I need to get started with the Virtual Lessons?

The online sessions have been carefully structured so students around the world can join us in most time zones. Students will have access to 2 hours of pre-course materials prior to starting the course. During the course, students will have 20 hour contact time per week, 15 hours of workshops and project work plus two hours of skills and careers workshops.

We recommend using a laptop with webcam and audio capabilities but students could also use their iPad or mobile phone.

You will also need a reliable internet connection to make sure students can connect to their teacher.
